(1) Neraca serong adalah kekejian bagi TUHAN, tetapi Ia berkenan akan batu timbangan yang tepat.
(1) 여호와께서는 속이는 저울은 미워하시나, 정확한 저울추는 기뻐하신다.
(1) {Contrast the Upright and the Wicked}A false balance and dishonest business practices are extremely offensive to the LORD, But an accurate scale is His delight.
(2) Jikalau keangkuhan tiba, tiba juga cemooh, tetapi hikmat ada pada orang yang rendah hati.
(2) 교만한 자는 수치를 당하나, 겸손한 자는 지혜롭다.
(2) When pride comes [boiling up with an arrogant attitude of self-importance], then come dishonor and shame, But with the humble [the teachable who have been chiseled by trial and who have learned to walk humbly with God] there is wisdom and soundness of mind.
(3) Orang yang jujur dipimpin oleh ketulusannya, tetapi pengkhianat dirusak oleh kecurangannya.
(3) 정직한 사람은 성실하여 형통하나, 사기꾼은 자기 꾀로 말미암아 스스로 망한다.
(3) The integrity and moral courage of the upright will guide them, But the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them.
(4) Pada hari kemurkaan harta tidak berguna, tetapi kebenaran melepaskan orang dari maut.
(4) 재물이 많아도 하나님이 노하시면 아무 쓸모가 없지만, 의로운 삶은 죽을 자리에서도 목숨을 건진다.
(4) Riches will not provide security in the day of wrath and judgment, But righteousness rescues from death.
(5) Jalan orang saleh diratakan oleh kebenarannya, tetapi orang fasik jatuh karena kefasikannya.
(5) 흠 없는 사람의 의로운 삶은 그의 앞길을 환하게 만들지만, 악인은 자기 악행으로 망하고 만다.
(5) The righteousness of the blameless will smooth their way and keep it straight, But the wicked will fall by his own wickedness.
(6) Orang yang jujur dilepaskan oleh kebenarannya, tetapi pengkhianat tertangkap oleh hawa nafsunya.
(6) 정직한 사람의 의로운 행실은 그를 구원하지만, 사기꾼은 자기의 악한 생각에 스스로 걸려 넘어진다.
(6) The righteousness of the upright will rescue them, But the treacherous will be caught by their own greed.
(7) Pengharapan orang fasik gagal pada kematiannya, dan harapan orang jahat menjadi sia-sia.
(7) 악인은 죽을 때에 그의 소망도 함께 사라지고, 하나님을 저버린 자가 거는 모든 기대는 허무하다.
(7) When the wicked man dies, his expectation will perish; And the hope of [godless] strong men perishes.
(8) Orang benar diselamatkan dari kesukaran, lalu orang fasik menggantikannya.
(8) 의인은 재난에서 구원 받고, 오히려 그 재난은 악인에게 돌아간다.
(8) The righteous is rescued from trouble, And the wicked takes his place.
(9) Dengan mulutnya orang fasik membinasakan sesama manusia, tetapi orang benar diselamatkan oleh pengetahuan.
(9) 하나님을 저버린 자는 그 입으로 자기 이웃을 해치지만, 의인은 지혜롭게 피한다.
(9) With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge and discernment the righteous will be rescued.
(10) Bila orang benar mujur, beria-rialah kota, dan bila orang fasik binasa, gemuruhlah sorak-sorai.
(10) 의인이 잘 되면 마을이 기뻐하고, 악인이 망하면 사람들이 즐거워 소리친다.
(10) When it goes well for the righteous, the city rejoices, And when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.
(11) Berkat orang jujur memperkembangkan kota, tetapi mulut orang fasik meruntuhkannya.
(11) 정직한 자의 축복을 통해 마을 전체가 자랑스럽게 되지만, 악인의 입은 그 마을을 망하게 한다.
(11) By the blessing [of the influence] of the upright the city is exalted, But by the mouth of the wicked it is torn down.
(12) Siapa menghina sesamanya, tidak berakal budi, tetapi orang yang pandai, berdiam diri.
(12) 지혜 없는 사람은 자기 이웃을 비웃지만, 슬기로운 자는 자기 혀에 재갈을 물린다.
(12) He who despises his neighbor lacks sense, But a man of understanding keeps silent.
(13) Siapa mengumpat, membuka rahasia, tetapi siapa yang setia, menutupi perkara.
(13) 할 일 없이 남을 헐뜯는 사람은 남의 비밀을 드러내지만, 진실한 사람은 비밀을 지킨다.
(13) He who goes about as a gossip reveals secrets, But he who is trustworthy and faithful keeps a matter hidden.
(14) Jikalau tidak ada pimpinan, jatuhlah bangsa, tetapi jikalau penasihat banyak, keselamatan ada.
(14) 지혜로운 지도자가 없으면 나라가 망하여도, 조언자들이 많으면 그 나라가 평화롭다.
(14) Where there is no [wise, intelligent] guidance, the people fall [and go off course like a ship without a helm], But in the abundance of [wise and godly] counselors there is victory.
(15) Sangat malanglah orang yang menanggung orang lain, tetapi siapa membenci pertanggungan, amanlah ia.
(15) 남을 위해 보증서는 사람은 손해를 보지만, 그것을 거절하는 사람은 안전하다.
(15) He who puts up security and guarantees a debt for an outsider will surely suffer [for his foolishness], But he who hates (declines) being a guarantor is secure [from its penalties].
(16) Perempuan yang baik hati beroleh hormat; sedangkan seorang penindas beroleh kekayaan.
(16) 덕이 있는 여인은 존경을 받고, 근면한 남자들은 재물을 얻는다.
(16) A gracious and good woman attains honor, And ruthless men attain riches [but not respect].
(17) Orang yang murah hati berbuat baik kepada diri sendiri, tetapi orang yang kejam menyiksa badannya sendiri.
(17) 남에게 인자하게 대하면 자기도 잘 되지만, 잔인한 사람은 재앙을 불러들인다.
(17) The merciful and generous man benefits his soul [for his behavior returns to bless him], But the cruel and callous man does himself harm.
(18) Orang fasik membuat laba yang sia-sia, tetapi siapa menabur kebenaran, mendapat pahala yang tetap.
(18) 악인이 얻는 소득은 허무하나, 의를 행하는 사람은 확실한 보상을 받는다.
(18) The wicked man earns deceptive wages, But he who sows righteousness and lives his life with integrity will have a true reward [that is both permanent and satisfying].
(19) Siapa berpegang pada kebenaran yang sejati, menuju hidup, tetapi siapa mengejar kejahatan, menuju kematian.
(19) 늘 의롭게 살면 생명을 얻지만, 악을 행하는 사람은 죽고 만다.
(19) He who is steadfast in righteousness attains life, But he who pursues evil attains his own death.
(20) Orang yang serong hatinya adalah kekejian bagi TUHAN, tetapi orang yang tak bercela, jalannya dikenan-Nya.
(20) 여호와께서는 마음이 비뚤어진 사람을 미워하시나, 바른 길을 행하는 사람을 보면 기뻐하신다.
(20) The perverse in heart are repulsive and shamefully vile to the LORD, But those who are blameless and above reproach in their walk are His delight!
(21) Sungguh, orang jahat tidak akan luput dari hukuman, tetapi keturunan orang benar akan diselamatkan.
(21) 악인은 반드시 처벌을 받지만, 의로운 사람은 구원을 받을 것이다.
(21) Assuredly, the evil man will not go unpunished, But the descendants of the righteous will be freed.
(22) Seperti anting-anting emas di jungur babi, demikianlah perempuan cantik yang tidak susila.
(22) 외모가 아름다운 여인이 제멋대로 행동하는 것은 돼지코의 금고리와 같다.
(22) As a ring of gold in a swine's snout, So is a beautiful woman who is without discretion [her lack of character mocks her beauty].
(23) Keinginan orang benar mendatangkan bahagia semata-mata, harapan orang fasik mendatangkan murka.
(23) 의인의 소원은 성취되지만, 악인의 소망은 하나님의 진노만 가져온다.
(23) The desire of the righteous brings only good, But the expectation of the wicked brings wrath.
(24) Ada yang menyebar harta, tetapi bertambah kaya, ada yang menghemat secara luar biasa, namun selalu berkekurangan.
(24) 후하게 베푸는 사람은 더 많이 얻지만, 인색하게 구는 사람은 가난해질 뿐이다.
(24) There is the one who [generously] scatters [abroad], and yet increases all the more; And there is the one who withholds what is justly due, but it results only in want and poverty.
(25) Siapa banyak memberi berkat, diberi kelimpahan, siapa memberi minum, ia sendiri akan diberi minum.
(25) 후한 사람은 잘 되고, 남을 기분 좋게 하는 자는 자기의 기분도 좋아진다.
(25) The generous man [is a source of blessing and] shall be prosperous and enriched, And he who waters will himself be watered [reaping the generosity he has sown].
(26) Siapa menahan gandum, ia dikutuki orang, tetapi berkat turun di atas kepala orang yang menjual gandum.
(26) 어려움이 있을 때에 곡식을 혼자 차지하는 자는 사람들의 저주를 받지만, 기꺼이 나누는 사람은 축복을 받는다.
(26) The people curse him who holds back grain [when the public needs it], But a blessing [from God and man] is upon the head of him who sells it.
(27) Siapa mengejar kebaikan, berusaha untuk dikenan orang, tetapi siapa mengejar kejahatan akan ditimpa kejahatan.
(27) 선을 간절히 구하는 사람은 은총을 입지만, 악을 찾는 자에게는 재앙이 임한다.
(27) He who diligently seeks good seeks favor and grace, But he who seeks evil, evil will come to him.
(28) Siapa mempercayakan diri kepada kekayaannya akan jatuh; tetapi orang benar akan tumbuh seperti daun muda.
(28) 자기 재물을 의지하는 사람은 떨어지는 나뭇잎 같으나, 의인은 푸른 잎사귀처럼 번성할 것이다.
(28) He who leans on and trusts in and is confident in his riches will fall, But the righteous [who trust in God's provision] will flourish like a green leaf.
(29) Siapa yang mengacaukan rumah tangganya akan menangkap angin; orang bodoh akan menjadi budak orang bijak.
(29) 자기 가족을 괴롭히는 자는 허무하게 망하고, 바보는 지혜로운 사람의 종이 되고 말 것이다.
(29) He who troubles (mismanages) his own house will inherit the wind (nothing), And the foolish will be a servant to the wise-hearted.
(30) Hasil orang benar adalah pohon kehidupan, dan siapa bijak, mengambil hati orang.
(30) 의인의 열매는 생명나무이며, 지혜로운 자는 사람을 얻는다.
(30) The fruit of the [consistently] righteous is a tree of life, And he who is wise captures and wins souls [for God—he gathers them for eternity].
(31) Kalau orang benar menerima balasan di atas bumi, lebih-lebih orang fasik dan orang berdosa!
(31) 의인들도 세상에서 죄값을 받는데, 하나님을 저버린 죄인들이야 무엇을 더 말하겠는가!
(31) If the righteous will be rewarded on the earth [with godly blessings], How much more [will] the wicked and the sinner [be repaid with punishment]!
