(1) Perempuan yang bijak mendirikan rumahnya, tetapi yang bodoh meruntuhkannya dengan tangannya sendiri.
(1) 지혜로운 여인은 자기 집을 번영하게 하지만, 미련한 여인은 자기 손으로 집을 망친다.
(1) {Contrast the Upright and the Wicked}The wise woman builds her house [on a foundation of godly precepts, and her household thrives], But the foolish one [who lacks spiritual insight] tears it down with her own hands [by ignoring godly principles].
(2) Siapa berjalan dengan jujur, takut akan TUHAN, tetapi orang yang sesat jalannya, menghina Dia.
(2) 정직하게 행하는 사람은 여호와를 경외하지만, 행위가 악한 사람은 그분을 멸시한다.
(2) He who walks in uprightness [reverently] fears the LORD [and obeys and worships Him with profound respect], But he who is devious in his ways despises Him.
(3) Di dalam mulut orang bodoh ada rotan untuk punggungnya, tetapi orang bijak dipelihara oleh bibirnya.
(3) 미련한 사람은 말 때문에 자기 등에 회초리를 맞으나, 지혜로운 자의 입술은 자신을 보호한다.
(3) In the mouth of the [arrogant] fool [who rejects God] is a rod for his back, But the lips of the wise [when they speak with godly wisdom] will protect them.
(4) Kalau tidak ada lembu, juga tidak ada gandum, tetapi dengan kekuatan sapi banyaklah hasil.
(4) 소가 없으면 외양간이 깨끗하겠지만, 소의 힘으로 얻는 것이 많다.
(4) Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean, But much revenue [because of good crops] comes by the strength of the ox.
(5) Saksi yang setia tidak berbohong, tetapi siapa menyembur-nyemburkan kebohongan, adalah saksi dusta.
(5) 진실한 증인은 거짓말을 하지 않지만, 거짓 증인은 거짓말을 밥먹듯 내뱉는다.
(5) A faithful and trustworthy witness will not lie, But a false witness speaks lies.
(6) Si pencemooh mencari hikmat, tetapi sia-sia, sedangkan bagi orang berpengertian, pengetahuan mudah diperoleh.
(6) 거만한 자는 지혜를 찾아도 발견하지 못하나, 명철한 사람은 쉽게 지식을 얻는다.
(6) A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none [for his ears are closed to wisdom], But knowledge is easy for one who understands [because he is willing to learn].
(7) Jauhilah orang bebal, karena pengetahuan tidak kaudapati dari bibirnya.
(7) 어리석은 자에게서 속히 떠나라. 그의 입술에서 무슨 배울 것이 있겠는가?
(7) Leave the presence of a [shortsighted] fool, For you will not find knowledge or hear godly wisdom from his lips.
(8) Mengerti jalannya sendiri adalah hikmat orang cerdik, tetapi orang bebal ditipu oleh kebodohannya.
(8) 슬기로운 사람의 지혜는 그의 길을 밝혀 주지만, 어리석은 자의 미련은 속이는 것뿐이다.
(8) The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way, But the foolishness of [shortsighted] fools is deceit.
(9) Orang bodoh mencemoohkan korban tebusan, tetapi orang jujur saling menunjukkan kebaikan.
(9) 미련한 사람은 죄 용서받는 일을 비웃지만, 정직한 사람들은 은총을 입는다.
(9) Fools mock sin [but sin mocks the fools], But among the upright there is good will and the favor and blessing of God.
(10) Hati mengenal kepedihannya sendiri, dan orang lain tidak dapat turut merasakan kesenangannya.
(10) 마음의 고통은 남이 모르고, 기쁜 마음도 역시 모른다.
(10) The heart knows its own bitterness, And no stranger shares its joy.
(11) Rumah orang fasik akan musnah, tetapi kemah orang jujur akan mekar.
(11) 악인의 집은 망하지만, 정직한 자의 살림은 번창한다.
(11) The house of the wicked will be overthrown, But the tent of the upright will thrive.
(12) Ada jalan yang disangka orang lurus, tetapi ujungnya menuju maut.
(12) 어떤 길은 사람이 보기에 좋아 보여도, 결국은 죽음의 길이다.
(12) There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, But its end is the way of death.
(13) Di dalam tertawapun hati dapat merana, dan kesukaan dapat berakhir dengan kedukaan.
(13) 웃을 때도 고통이 숨어 있고, 기쁨의 끝에도 슬픔이 있다.
(13) Even in laughter the heart may be in pain, And the end of joy may be grief.
(14) Orang yang murtad hatinya menjadi kenyang dengan jalannya, dan orang yang baik dengan apa yang ada padanya.
(14) 마음이 비뚤어진 사람은 행한 대로 보응을 받겠고, 선한 사람도 자기 행실로 보상을 받는다.
(14) The backslider in heart will have his fill with his own [rotten] ways, But a good man will be satisfied with his ways [the godly thought and action which his heart pursues and in which he delights].
(15) Orang yang tak berpengalaman percaya kepada setiap perkataan, tetapi orang yang bijak memperhatikan langkahnya.
(15) 미련한 자는 남의 말을 곧이곧대로 듣지만, 슬기로운 사람은 신중하게 행동한다.
(15) The naive or inexperienced person [is easily misled and] believes every word he hears, But the prudent man [is discreet and astute and] considers well where he is going.
(16) Orang bijak berhati-hati dan menjauhi kejahatan, tetapi orang bebal melampiaskan nafsunya dan merasa aman.
(16) 지혜로운 사람은 여호와를 경외하고 악한 일을 멀리하나, 어리석은 자는 제멋대로 행동한다.
(16) A wise man suspects danger and cautiously avoids evil, But the fool is arrogant and careless.
(17) Siapa lekas naik darah, berlaku bodoh, tetapi orang yang bijaksana, bersabar.
(17) 성미가 조급한 사람은 미련한 짓을 하고, 음모를 꾸미는 자는 미움을 받는다.
(17) A quick-tempered man acts foolishly and without self-control, And a man of wicked schemes is hated.
(18) Orang yang tak berpengalaman mendapat kebodohan, tetapi orang yang bijak bermahkotakan pengetahuan.
(18) 미련한 사람은 미련을 상속 받지만, 슬기로운 사람은 지식의 왕관을 쓴다.
(18) The naive [are unsophisticated and easy to exploit and] inherit foolishness, But the sensible [are thoughtful and far-sighted and] are crowned with knowledge.
(19) Orang jahat tunduk di dekat orang baik, orang fasik di depan pintu gerbang orang benar.
(19) 사악한 자들은 선인들 앞에서 고개를 숙여야 하고, 악인들은 의인의 문 앞에 엎드린다.
(19) The evil will bow down before the good, And the wicked [will bow down] at the gates of the righteous.
(20) Juga oleh temannya orang miskin itu dibenci, tetapi sahabat orang kaya itu banyak.
(20) 가난한 사람은 이웃도 피하지만, 부자는 친구가 많다.
(20) The poor man is hated even by his neighbor, But those who love the rich are many.
(21) Siapa menghina sesamanya berbuat dosa, tetapi berbahagialah orang yang menaruh belas kasihan kepada orang yang menderita.
(21) 자기 이웃을 업신여기는 사람은 죄를 짓는 것이지만, 가난한 자를 돕는 사람은 복이 있다.
(21) He who despises his neighbor sins [against God and his fellow man], But happy [blessed and favored by God] is he who is gracious and merciful to the poor.
(22) Tidak sesatkah orang yang merencanakan kejahatan? Tetapi yang merencanakan hal yang baik memperoleh kasih dan setia.
(22) 음모를 꾸미는 자는 길을 잃고 방황할 것이지만, 선한 것을 생각하는 사람은 사랑과 신실함을 보장받는다.
(22) Do they not go astray who devise evil and wander from the way of righteousness? But kindness and truth will be to those who devise good.
(23) Dalam tiap jerih payah ada keuntungan, tetapi kata-kata belaka mendatangkan kekurangan saja.
(23) 모든 수고는 이득을 가져오나, 말로만 하면 가난해질 뿐이다.
(23) In all labor there is profit, But mere talk leads only to poverty.
(24) Mahkota orang bijak adalah kepintarannya; tajuk orang bebal adalah kebodohannya.
(24) 지혜로운 자가 쓸 면류관은 자기의 지혜이지만, 미련한 사람이 쓸 화관은 자기의 미련이다.
(24) The crown of the wise is their wealth [of wisdom], But the foolishness of [closed-minded] fools is [nothing but] folly.
(25) Saksi yang setia menyelamatkan hidup, tetapi siapa menyembur-nyemburkan kebohongan adalah pengkhianat.
(25) 진실한 증인은 죄 없는 사람들을 구하지만, 거짓 증인은 사람을 해친다.
(25) A truthful witness saves lives, But he who speaks lies is treacherous.
(26) Dalam takut akan TUHAN ada ketenteraman yang besar, bahkan ada perlindungan bagi anak-anak-Nya.
(26) 여호와를 경외하는 사람은 견고한 요새를 가진 자이며, 그 후손도 그로 인해 피난처를 얻는다.
(26) In the [reverent] fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And His children will [always] have a place of refuge.
(27) Takut akan TUHAN adalah sumber kehidupan sehingga orang terhindar dari jerat maut.
(27) 여호와를 경외하는 것이 생명의 샘이니, 사람을 사망의 올무에서 건진다.
(27) The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that leads to obedience and worship] is a fountain of life, So that one may avoid the snares of death.
(28) Dalam besarnya jumlah rakyat terletak kemegahan raja, tetapi tanpa rakyat runtuhlah pemerintah.
(28) 백성이 많은 것은 왕의 영광이지만, 백성이 없는 왕은 망한다.
(28) In a multitude of people is a king's glory, But in a lack of people is a [pretentious] prince's ruin.
(29) Orang yang sabar besar pengertiannya, tetapi siapa cepat marah membesarkan kebodohan.
(29) 화를 참는 자는 지혜로우나, 성미가 조급한 사람은 미련을 드러낸다.
(29) He who is slow to anger has great understanding [and profits from his self-control], But he who is quick-tempered exposes and exalts his foolishness [for all to see].
(30) Hati yang tenang menyegarkan tubuh, tetapi iri hati membusukkan tulang.
(30) 마음이 편하면 신체도 건강하나, 질투심은 뼈를 썩게 만든다.
(30) A calm and peaceful and tranquil heart is life and health to the body, But passion and envy are like rottenness to the bones.
(31) Siapa menindas orang yang lemah, menghina Penciptanya, tetapi siapa menaruh belas kasihan kepada orang miskin, memuliakan Dia.
(31) 가난한 사람을 학대하는 자는 저들을 만드신 주를 멸시하는 것이며, 궁핍한 자에게 베푸는 자는 하나님을 경외하는 것이다.
(31) He who oppresses the poor taunts and insults his Maker, But he who is kind and merciful and gracious to the needy honors Him.
(32) Orang fasik dirobohkan karena kejahatannya, tetapi orang benar mendapat perlindungan karena ketulusannya.
(32) 재앙이 오면 악인은 망하지만, 의인은 죽을 자리에서도 피난처를 얻는다.
(32) The wicked is overthrown through his wrongdoing, But the righteous has hope and confidence and a refuge [with God] even in death.
(33) Hikmat tinggal di dalam hati orang yang berpengertian, tetapi tidak dikenal di dalam hati orang bebal.
(33) 지혜는 슬기로운 사람의 마음에는 간직되지만, 심지어 어리석은 사람 중에서도 알려진다.
(33) Wisdom rests [silently] in the heart of one who has understanding, But what is in the heart of [shortsighted] fools is made known.
(34) Kebenaran meninggikan derajat bangsa, tetapi dosa adalah noda bangsa.
(34) 의로운 사람들은 자기 나라를 번창하게 하지만, 죄는 백성을 부끄럽게 만든다.
(34) Righteousness [moral and spiritual integrity and virtuous character] exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people.
(35) Raja berkenan kepada hamba yang berakal budi, tetapi kemarahannya menimpa orang yang membuat malu.
(35) 왕은 지혜로운 신하를 기뻐하나, 해를 끼치는 신하에게는 진노를 발한다.
(35) The king's favor and good will are toward a servant who acts wisely and discreetly, But his anger and wrath are toward him who acts shamefully.
