(1) Nama baik lebih berharga dari pada kekayaan besar, dikasihi orang lebih baik dari pada perak dan emas.
(1) 명예가 많은 재물보다 귀하고, 좋은 평판이 금은보화보다 훨씬 낫다.
(1) {On Life and Conduct}A good name [earned by honorable behavior, godly wisdom, moral courage, and personal integrity] is more desirable than great riches; And favor is better than silver and gold.
(2) Orang kaya dan orang miskin bertemu; yang membuat mereka semua ialah TUHAN.
(2) 부자와 가난한 자가 섞여 사니, 여호와께서 그들 모두를 만드셨다.
(2) The rich and poor have a common bond; The LORD is the Maker of them all.
(3) Kalau orang bijak melihat malapetaka, bersembunyilah ia, tetapi orang yang tak berpengalaman berjalan terus, lalu kena celaka.
(3) 슬기로운 사람은 위험을 보면 피하나, 미련한 자는 제 발로 들어가 화를 당한다.
(3) A prudent and far-sighted person sees the evil [of sin] and hides himself [from it], But the naive continue on and are punished [by suffering the consequences of sin].
(4) Ganjaran kerendahan hati dan takut akan TUHAN adalah kekayaan, kehormatan dan kehidupan.
(4) 사람이 겸손히 여호와를 경외하면 재물과 영예와 형통을 얻는다.
(4) The reward of humility [that is, having a realistic view of one's importance] and the [reverent, worshipful] fear of the LORD Is riches, honor, and life.
(5) Duri dan perangkap ada di jalan orang yang serong hatinya; siapa ingin memelihara diri menjauhi orang itu.
(5) 사악한 사람의 길에는 도처에 가시와 함정이 있지만, 자기를 지키는 자는 그런 것들을 피한다.
(5) Thorns and snares are in the way of the obstinate [for their lack of honor and their wrong-doing traps them]; He who guards himself [with godly wisdom] will be far from them and avoid the consequences they suffer.
(6) Didiklah orang muda menurut jalan yang patut baginya, maka pada masa tuanyapun ia tidak akan menyimpang dari pada jalan itu.
(6) 아이에게 올바른 길을 가르쳐라. 그러면 늙어서도 그 길을 떠나지 않을 것이다.
(6) Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God's wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], Even when he is old he will not depart from it.
(7) Orang kaya menguasai orang miskin, yang berhutang menjadi budak dari yang menghutangi.
(7) 부자는 가난한 자를 다스리고, 빚진 자는 꾸어 준 자의 종이다.
(7) The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender.
(8) Orang yang menabur kecurangan akan menuai bencana, dan tongkat amarahnya akan habis binasa.
(8) 악을 행하는 자는 재난을 거두고, 그런 자의 분노는 쇠약해진다.
(8) He who sows injustice will reap [a harvest of] trouble, And the rod of his wrath [with which he oppresses others] will fail.
(9) Orang yang baik hati akan diberkati, karena ia membagi rezekinya dengan si miskin.
(9) 남을 동정하는 사람은 축복을 받으리니, 가난한 자와 자기 음식을 나누기 때문이다.
(9) He who is generous will be blessed, For he gives some of his food to the poor.
(10) Usirlah si pencemooh, maka lenyaplah pertengkaran, dan akan berhentilah perbantahan dan cemooh.
(10) 거만한 자를 쫓아 내어라. 그러면 분쟁과 다툼과 모욕이 그칠 것이다.
(10) Drive out the scoffer, and contention will go away; Even strife and dishonor will cease.
(11) Orang yang mencintai kesucian hati dan yang manis bicaranya menjadi sahabat raja.
(11) 정결한 마음을 사랑하는 자, 그 말이 은혜로운 자는 왕의 친구가 될 것이다.
(11) He who loves purity of heart And whose speech is gracious will have the king as his friend.
(12) Mata TUHAN menjaga pengetahuan, tetapi Ia membatalkan perkataan si pengkhianat.
(12) 여호와의 눈은 지식 있는 자를 지키시나, 사기꾼의 말은 패하게 하신다.
(12) The eyes of the LORD keep guard over knowledge and the one who has it, But He overthrows the words of the treacherous.
(13) Si pemalas berkata: "Ada singa di luar, aku akan dibunuh di tengah jalan."
(13) 게으른 사람은 “사자가 밖에 있으니, 일하러 길거리에 나가면 죽을 것이다”라고 말한다.
(13) The lazy one [manufactures excuses and] says, "There is a lion outside! I will be killed in the streets [if I go out to work]!"
(14) Mulut perempuan jalang adalah lobang yang dalam; orang yang dimurkai TUHAN akan terperosok ke dalamnya.
(14) 창녀의 입은 깊은 구덩이와 같으니, 여호와의 진노를 받는 자는 그 곳에 떨어질 것이다.
(14) The mouth of an immoral woman is a deep pit [deep and inescapable]; He who is cursed by the LORD [because of his adulterous sin] will fall into it.
(15) Kebodohan melekat pada hati orang muda, tetapi tongkat didikan akan mengusir itu dari padanya.
(15) 어린이의 마음에는 미련이 담겨 있다. 징계의 채찍으로 때리면 없앨 수 있다.
(15) Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of discipline [correction administered with godly wisdom and lovingkindness] will remove it far from him.
(16) Orang yang menindas orang lemah untuk menguntungkan diri atau memberi hadiah kepada orang kaya, hanya merugikan diri saja.
(16) 자기 재산을 늘리려고 가난한 자를 학대하는 자와 부자에게 뇌물을 바치는 자는 모두 가난에 떨어질 것이다.
(16) He who oppresses or exploits the poor to get more for himself Or who gives to the rich [to gain influence and favor], will only come to poverty.
22:17 - 24:34 = Amsal-amsal orang bijak
(17) Pasanglah telingamu dan dengarkanlah amsal-amsal orang bijak, berilah perhatian kepada pengetahuanku.
(17) 귀를 기울여 지혜자의 말을 들어라. 나의 교훈을 네 마음에 두어라.
(17) Listen carefully and hear the words of the wise, And apply your mind to my knowledge;
(18) Karena menyimpannya dalam hati akan menyenangkan bagimu, bila semuanya itu tersedia pada bibirmu.
(18) 그것들을 네 마음속에 간직하여, 언제든지 입술로 말할 수 있다면 얼마나 좋을까?
(18) For it will be pleasant if you keep them in mind [incorporating them as guiding principles]; Let them be ready on your lips [to guide and strengthen yourself and others].
(19) Supaya engkau menaruh kepercayaanmu kepada TUHAN, aku mengajarkannya kepadamu sekarang, ya kepadamu.
(19) 여호와를 의지하도록 하기 위해 나는 오늘 너에게 특별히 권한다.
(19) So that your trust and reliance and confidence may be in the LORD, I have taught these things to you today, even to you.
(20) Bukankah aku telah menulisnya kepadamu dulu dengan nasihat dan pengetahuan,
(20) 내가 너에게 모략과 지식의 말씀 서른 가지를 기록해 주었다.
(20) Have I not written to you excellent things In counsels and knowledge,
(21) untuk mengajarkan kepadamu apa yang benar dan sungguh, supaya engkau dapat memberikan jawaban yang tepat kepada yang menyuruh engkau.
(21) 바르고 신뢰할 수 있는 말씀으로 너를 가르쳐, 너를 보낸 자에게 올바르게 대답할 수 있게 하였다.
(21) To let you know the certainty of the words of truth, That you may give a correct answer to him who sent you?
(22) Janganlah merampasi orang lemah, karena ia lemah, dan janganlah menginjak-injak orang yang berkesusahan di pintu gerbang.
(22) 가난한 자를 힘 없다고 이용하지 말고, 약한 자를 성문에서 압제하지 마라.
(22) Do not rob the poor because he is poor [and defenseless], Nor crush the afflicted [by legal proceedings] at the gate [where the city court is held],
(23) Sebab TUHAN membela perkara mereka, dan mengambil nyawa orang yang merampasi mereka.
(23) 여호와께서는 그들의 사정을 듣고, 그들을 학대한 자들을 벌하실 것이다.
(23) For the LORD will plead their case And take the life of those who rob them.
(24) Jangan berteman dengan orang yang lekas gusar, jangan bergaul dengan seorang pemarah,
(24) 화풀이 잘하는 사람과 사귀지 말고, 성 잘내는 사람과 사귀지 마라.
(24) Do not even associate with a man given to angry outbursts; Or go [along] with a hot-tempered man,
(25) supaya engkau jangan menjadi biasa dengan tingkah lakunya dan memasang jerat bagi dirimu sendiri.
(25) 네가 그의 행위를 본받아 올무에 빠질까 두렵다.
(25) Or you will learn his [undisciplined] ways And get yourself trapped [in a situation from which it is hard to escape].
(26) Jangan engkau termasuk orang yang membuat persetujuan, dan yang menjadi penanggung hutang.
(26) 너는 타인의 보증을 서지 말고, 타인의 빚 보증인이 되지 마라.
(26) Do not be among those who give pledges [involving themselves in others' finances], Or among those who become guarantors for others' debts.
(27) Mengapa orang akan mengambil tempat tidurmu dari bawahmu, bila engkau tidak mempunyai apa-apa untuk membayar kembali?
(27) 네가 갚을 돈이 없으면, 네가 누운 침대마저 차압당할 것이다.
(27) If you have nothing with which to pay [another's debt when he defaults], Why should his creditor take your bed from under you?
(28) Jangan engkau memindahkan batas tanah yang lama, yang ditetapkan oleh nenek moyangmu.
(28) 네 조상이 세운 밭 울타리를 함부로 옮기지 마라.
(28) Do not move the ancient landmark [at the boundary of the property] Which your fathers have set.
(29) Pernahkah engkau melihat orang yang cakap dalam pekerjaannya? Di hadapan raja-raja ia akan berdiri, bukan di hadapan orang-orang yang hina.
(29) 자기 일에 충실한 사람을 봤느냐? 그런 사람은 하찮은 사람을 섬길 인물이 아니니, 왕을 섬길 것이다.
(29) Do you see a man skillful and experienced in his work? He will stand [in honor] before kings; He will not stand before obscure men.
